What the light means
The check engine light appears when the vehicle detects a fault and stores a code for inspection. The code is a clue, not a final diagnosis by itself.
Common causes
Common causes include sensor faults, misfires, emissions issues, fuel system concerns, air intake problems, wiring faults, and loose or damaged caps.
Why a scan is only step one
A scan can show stored codes, but technicians still need to compare those codes with symptoms, live data, visible condition, and how the vehicle behaves. That prevents replacing parts based only on a code name.
When to stop driving
If the light flashes, the vehicle shakes, overheats, loses power, smells unusual, or runs poorly, avoid driving far. Call the workshop and explain the symptoms before continuing.
What to do next
A diagnostic scan and technician inspection are the safest next step. GTS can check warning-light concerns at the Mussafah workshop and explain the repair options after inspection.
